Merkel Says Euro Can’t Be Allowed to Fail

Oct. 26 (Bloomberg) -- Chancellor Angela Merkel said that European leaders cannot allow the single currency to fail as “the world is watching” German and European policymakers.

“Nobody should believe that another half century of peace in Europe is a given -- it’s not,” Merkel told German lawmakers today in Berlin. “So I say again: if the euro collapses, Europe collapses. That can’t happen.”
