Oct. 26 (Bloomberg) -- The French government will consider the results of today’s summit to tackle the euro area debt crisis and economic statistics such as third-quarter growth before making changes to its 2012 budget, Budget Minister Valerie Pecresse said.
“We’re in a period of great turbulence,” Pecresse told reporters in Paris after a meeting of President Nicolas Sarkozy’s cabinet. “We want to have a clearer, more stable view of the euro zone before looking at our growth outlook again. We’ll also look at the economic indicators that will be published in coming days.”
Pecresse also said that the government will take the necessary measures to meet its deficit reduction targets.
