EBA Says EU Bank Deal Targets Raising Bank Capital by EU106 Bln

Oct. 26 (Bloomberg) -- Europe’s banking regulator said the EU’s bank deal is targeting raising capital of 106 billion euros. The EBA expects to disclose the final capital shortfall for European banks in November, based on banks’ figures as at 30 Sept. Under the plan French banks would target raising EU8.8 billion, Spanish banks would target raising EU26.2 billion, German banks would target raising EU5.2 billion, and Italian banks, EU14.8 billion, the EBA said in an emailed statement.
