Oct. 25 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Vietnam trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the 11 a.m. local-time close.
The VN Index, the benchmark measure of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, fell 1.2 percent to 409.38.
Societe de Bourbon Tay Ninh Joint-Stock Co. (SBT VN), the country’s biggest listed sugar company, advanced 3.9 percent to 13,300 dong, the biggest gain since Aug. 22.
Raw sugar for March delivery gained yesterday for the first time in four days in New York, rising 2.3 percent to 27.10 cents a pound.
Tien Len Steel Corporation Joint-Stock Co. (TLH VN), which produces construction, coil, shaped and plate steel, declined 2.9 percent to 6,600 dong. The company, based in the southern province of Dong Nai, lowered its 2011 profit target 61 percent to 53.4 billion dong ($2.55 million), it said in an exchange filing. It also cut its 2011 sales target 30 percent to 2.8 trillion dong, the company said.
