Oct. 25 (Bloomberg) -- Shares of the following companies had unusual moves in Taiwan trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of the close in Taipei.
The Taiex Index rose 0.3 percent to 7,491.21, the highest close since Sept. 21. The gauge gained for a third day.
Cathay Real Estate Development Co. (2501 TT) gained 1.6 percent to NT$12.50, the highest level since Sept. 22. The company said it bought land in New Taipei City for NT$655 million ($22 million) from June 27 to Oct. 24.
Compal Communications Inc. (8078 TT) lost 3.4 percent to NT$43.70, halting three days of gains. The company reported a third-quarter loss of NT$199 million.
TSRC Corp. (2103 TT) increased 2.3 percent to NT$79.50, the highest close since July 21, after the synthetic rubber maker was raised to “outperform” from “neutral” at KGI Securities Co.
