Oct. 25 (Bloomberg) -- European Central Bank Governing Council member Ewald Nowotny said the ECB doesn’t any inflation risks in the euro area.

“I don’t see any trends that would point to any price stability risks,” Nowotny said in Vienna today. “The ECB has fulfilled its price stability mandate and will continue to do so.”

Nowotny, who heads the Austrian central bank, also said the ECB’s primary mandate is to keep a lid on prices and that “an institution should be judged by the mandate it’s given.”
