Oct. 24 (Bloomberg) -- Ukraine’s corn harvest is 12.4 million metric tons, 25 percent larger than last year at this time, according to the Agriculture Ministry.
The crop was harvested from 2.18 million hectares (5.38 million acres), the ministry said in an e-mailed statement today. The corn yield is 5.7 tons a hectare, up from 4.4 tons a year earlier, it said. The all-grains harvest is 47.8 million tons, up from 39.3 million tons this time last year, it said.
Sunflowers rose to 8.2 million tons from 6.8 million tons and sugar beets expanded to 14.2 million tons from 11.8 million tons, it said.
