China Official Gets 5-Year Jail Term for Data Leaks, NBS Says

Oct. 24 (Bloomberg) -- China’s statistics bureau said Sun Zhen, former deputy director of its secretary’s office was recently found guilty of intentionally revealing state secrets and sentenced to five years in prison, the agency said today.

Sun did not appeal the sentence handed down by the Xicheng district court in Beijing, according to a statement released before a briefing in the Chinese capital today.
