Oct. 22 (Bloomberg) -- British singer Robbie Williams’ forthcoming solo album will be released by Universal Music Group next autumn, according to a statement on Williams’ website.

The record will be Williams’ first studio album since 2009, the statement said. The singer recently reunited with his former band Take That.

The Sunday Times reported on Sept. 11 that EMI Group Ltd. wanted to re-sign Williams to increase the value of the company before a sale this fall.
