Rugby World Cup Final Weekend to Boost NZ Economy by $63 Million

Oct. 21 (Bloomberg) -- New Zealand’s economy is likely to earn a $62.8 million windfall this weekend as local and French fans descend on Auckland for the Rugby World Cup final, according to a study commissioned by Mastercard Inc.

As many as 50,000 international visitors are expected to be in Auckland for the tournament’s last weekend as New Zealand’s All Blacks prepare to play France at Eden Park on Sunday, according to the report.
