EU’s Szekely Says Ireland Faces ‘Major Challenges’ Ahead

Oct. 20 (Bloomberg) -- Istvan Szekely, a European Commission official, said that Ireland faces “major challenges” ahead and that the country’s domestic economy remains weak.

Szekely, briefing reporters in Dublin on Ireland’s quarterly bailout review, said Ireland’s program is succeeding and the improvement in investor sentiment towards Ireland is “impressive.”
