Daewoo, Korea Builders Gain on Libya Reconstruction Speculation

Oct. 21 (Bloomberg) -- Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co. led South Korean builders higher in Seoul trading speculation they will benefit from a potential increase in reconstruction work in Libya, said Alex Cho, an analyst with Daishin Securities Co. Daewoo Engineering rallied 7.1 percent to 9,800 won as of 9:19 a.m. on the Korea Exchange. Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co. added 5.9 percent, while the benchmark Kospi Index gained 0.8 percent.
