Oct. 19 (Bloomberg) -- A coal mine explosion in southwest China has left 13 people dead, the official Xinhua news agency said, citing local government officials.
The accident happened on Oct. 17 at a mine in Fengjie county in the municipality of Chongqing, Xinhua said, citing a statement from the municipal government. Three miners were rescued, it said.
Six people have been detained in connection with the explosion and police and work safety authorities are investigating, according to the report.
