BOJ’s Shirakawa Says Japan’s Economic Activity Is Picking Up

Oct. 20 (Bloomberg) -- Bank of Japan Governor Masaaki Shirakawa said the nation’s economic activity is picking up.

He also said the BOJ needs to watch developments in the European sovereign debt crisis because uncertainties remain. Shirakawa spoke to a meeting of branch managers of the central bank in Tokyo today.
