Persian Gulf Stocks: Arabian Cement, National Bank of Oman

Oct. 17 (Bloomberg) -- The DFM General Index retreated to the lowest since March 3, dropping 0.6 percent to 1,366.22 at the 2 p.m. close in Dubai. Saudi Arabia’s Tadawul All Share Index decreased less than 0.1 percent.

The following shares were active in the Persian Gulf region. Stock symbols are in parentheses.

Arabian Cement Co. (ARCCO AB) rose to the highest since Sept. 28, gaining 0.5 percent to 41.8 riyals. The Saudi producer of the building material posted a 28 percent increase in third- quarter profit to 105 million riyals ($28 million) from a year- earlier period.

National Bank of Oman SAOG (NBOB OM) advanced the most in a week, climbing 1.6 percent to 0.312 rial. The sultanate’s third- biggest lender by market value said nine-month profit rose 26 percent to 27.3 million rials ($71 million) from a year earlier as interest income and deposits increased.
