China’s Economy Grew 9.1 Percent in Third Quarter

Oct. 18 (Bloomberg) -- China’s economy grew 9.1 percent in the third quarter from a year earlier and industrial production rose 13.8 percent in September, the National Bureau of Statistics said.

The median estimate in a Bloomberg News survey of economists was for a 9.3 percent gain in gross domestic product. In the second quarter, the gain was 9.5 percent.

The increase in industrial output compared with a 13.4 percent median forecast and 13.5 percent in August.

The statistics bureau released the numbers in a statement in Beijing today.
