China Potash Output May Rise to 6 Million Tons This Year

China’s potash output may rise to 6 million tons this year, Wei Chengguang, the chairman of the Chinese potash industry association, said today at a conference in Shanghai.

China’s investment overseas and in domestic mines will result in 13.5 million tons of new capacity a year by 2015, and the global potash market will face overcapacity in 2012-2014, Wei said.
