Oct. 14 (Bloomberg) -- Ukrainian grain stockpiles rose 23 percent from a year earlier to 21.9 million metric tons as of Oct. 1, the state statistics office said.
Wheat accounted for 13.9 million tons, barley for 3.5 million tons and corn for 3 million tons, the Kiev-based statistics office said in a statement on its website today.
Sunflower seed stockpiles rose 21 percent to 5.2 million tons, according to the statement.
