Ukraine’s Winter Grain Plantings Are About 85% of Total Planned

Oct. 14 (Bloomberg) -- Ukraine’s winter grain was planted on 6.94 million hectares (17.1 million acres) by today, or about 85 percent of the total planned, the Agriculture Ministry said.

The plantings are down from 6.99 million hectares at this time last year, the Kiev-based ministry said in an e-mailed statement today. The total for the year will be 8.15 million hectares, it said.
