Oct. 14 (Bloomberg) -- European Central Bank council member Erkki Liikanen said the central bank intends to keep the bonds it buys until maturity.
Liikanen, who also heads the Bank of Finland, spoke today at a hearing in the Helsinki-based parliament. Bond purchases made on the secondary market at market price are intended to ensure the transmission of monetary policy, he said.
