Oct. 14 (Bloomberg) -- BrightSource Energy Inc., a developer of solar-thermal power plants, is seeking permission to build a 750-megawatt project in Southern California.
BrightSource filed an application for certification with the California Energy Commission for its Rio Mesa project in Riverside County, the Oakland, California-based company said today in a statement. The project with have three, 250-megawatt plants that use mirrors to focus sunlight on a boiler, producing steam to drive a turbine.
