Oct. 13 (Bloomberg) -- Poland’s WIG20 Index fell 44.23, or 1.9 percent, to 2,272.42 at the 5:30 p.m. close in Warsaw, the steepest daily drop in a week.
The following are among the most active stocks on the Warsaw Stock Exchange today. Stock symbols follow company names.
Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (LWB PW), Poland’s second- largest publicly traded coal producer, declined 1.6 percent to 103.8 zloty. Thermal coal for 2012 delivery to Amsterdam, Rotterdam or Antwerp decreased 1.6 percent to $118.85 a metric ton, its lowest level since Oct. 4, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
KGHM Polska Miedz SA (KGH PW), the copper producer with the biggest European mine output, declined 4.3 percent to 142.5 zloty, the biggest one-day drop in a week. Copper fell in New York on concern Europe’s lingering sovereign-debt crisis may hamper economies in Asian countries such as China, the top global consumer of the metal.
