Oct. 13 (Bloomberg) -- EON AG, Germany’s largest utility, agreed to buy 55 wind turbines from Vestas Wind Systems A/S for a project it’s developing in Texas.
Delivery of the V100 1.8-megawatt turbines is scheduled for mid-2012 and the Anacacho project near Uvalde, about 85 miles (137 kilometers) west of San Antonio, is scheduled to go into operation late next year, Randers, Denmark-based Vestas said today on its website.
The contract includes a five-year service and maintenance agreement with the Dusseldorf-based utility’s EON Climate & Renewables North America LLC unit.
