Colombia Had a Budget Surplus of 2.6% of GDP in First Half

Oct. 13 (Bloomberg) -- Colombia posted a consolidated budget surplus of 2.6 percent of gross domestic product in the first half of 2011, compared to a 0.1 percent deficit in the year earlier period.

The central government had a budget surplus of 1.3 percent of GDP in the first six months of the year, after posting a 0.8 percent deficit in 2010, according to a statement from the Finance Ministry.
