Zuccotti Park Cleaning Will Temporarily Displace Protesters

October 12, 2011

Oct. 12 (Bloomberg) -- Occupy Wall Street protesters will have to temporarily move from sections of New York’s Zuccotti Park on Oct. 14 to allow cleaning of the park, Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s office said.

Brookfield Properties, the owner of the park, told the mayor’s office it needs to clean the park to keep it in a condition fit for public use, according to a statement.

The mayor is founder and majority owner of Bloomberg News parent Bloomberg LP.
