XL’s Third-Quarter Catastrophe Costs May Have Hit $120 Million

Oct. 12 (Bloomberg) -- XL Group Plc, the Bermuda-based insurer and reinsurer, said third-quarter losses from catastrophes were $90 million to $120 million.

The largest losses were from Hurricane Irene, Tropical Storm Lee, Texas wildfires and Danish floods, XL said today in a statement distributed by PR Newswire.
