Honda Motor May Produce Electric Vehicles in China Next Year

Oct. 12 (Bloomberg) -- Honda Motor Co. may produce electric vehicles in China next year, Executive Director Mibe Toshihiro said at an auto forum in Chengdu today.

Honda will test electric Fit cars in China by the end of this year, he said. The electric vehicle models will qualify for Chinese government subsidies, said Natsuno Asanuma, a Beijing- based spokeswoman for Honda.
