Hanover’s Third-Quarter Catastrophe Costs May Be $115 Million

Oct. 12 (Bloomberg) -- Hanover Insurance Group Inc., the Worcester, Massachusetts-based provider of property and casualty coverage, said third-quarter catastrophe losses were $110 million to $115 million.

As much as $60 million of the losses stem from Hurricane Irene, which struck the U.S. East Coast in August, Hanover said today in a statement distributed by PR Newswire. The insurer expects to announce third-quarter earnings on Nov. 2.
