Selective Says Catastrophes Cost $70 Million in Third Quarter

Oct. 11 (Bloomberg) -- Selective Insurance Group Inc., the Branchville, New Jersey-based provider of commercial insurance, said third-quarter losses from catastrophes were about $70 million.

The total includes $40 million of losses from Hurricane Irene, the company said today in a statement distributed by PR Newswire.
