Oct. 11 (Bloomberg) -- Poland rejected rapeseed cargoes from Ukraine and Moldova because of infestation with live and dead mites, notifications to the European Union’s food-alert system showed.
Five samples of rapeseed from Ukraine tested from Oct. 7 to Oct. 9 found between 20 and 100 mites a kilogram (2.2 pounds), according to notices from Poland. Two samples of cargoes from Moldova on Oct. 8-9 found 300 and 210 of the insects a kilogram, respectively, notices showed.
