Estimated Azeri Natural Gas Reserves Up 33%-40%, Turan Reports

Oct. 11 (Bloomberg) -- The estimated reserves of natural gas in Azerbaijan is up between 33 percent and 40 percent to 6 trillion cubic meters to 7 trillion cubic meters, the privately owned news agency Turan reported today, citing Deputy Industry and Energy Minister Natiq Abbasov.

Azerbaijan, the third largest producer of oil in the former Soviet Union, has just over 2.5 trillion cubic meters proven reserves of gas, Abbasov said today in the capital, Baku.
