Conservatives Win Majority in Newfoundland Vote, CBC Projects

Oct. 11 (Bloomberg) -- The ruling Progressive Conservative Party under Premier Kathy Dunderdale has won a renewed majority in today’s elections in Newfoundland and Labrador province, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. projected.

Dunderdale’s Conservatives were elected or leading in 36 of 48 districts at 6:57 p.m. Toronto time, compared with eight for the New Democratic Party and three for the Liberal Party. One district hadn’t reported yet.
