Oct. 10 (Bloomberg) -- Opale-Defense, a French building consortium led by Bouygues SA and Thales SA, got an 806.33 million-euro ($1.1 billion) loan to help finance construction of the new French Ministry of Defense headquarters.
The senior loan was arranged by Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA, Dexia SA and Natixis SA and will fund a 9,300- employee site in the south-west of Paris expected to be completed in 2014, according to an e-mailed statement.
Credit Mutuel-CIC, Societe Generale SA, Bank of Tokyo- Mitsubishi UFJ Ltd., DZ Bank AG and Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group Inc. joined as lenders in syndication.
The Opale-Defense group also includes Dalkia France SAS, Sodexo France, Caisse des Depots et Consignation, FIDEPPP and SEIEF, according to the statement.
