Oct. 10 (Bloomberg) -- Algeria will invest about 2,600 billion dinars ($35 billion) by 2021 to increase power capacity, said Noureddine Bouterfa, Chief Executive Officer of state-run Societe Algerienne de l’Electricite et du Gaz.
The country will allocate 1,500 billion dinars of that amount to renewable energy, Bouterfa said at a conference in Algiers. Algeria, a member of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, will add a total of 13,800 megawatts of capacity, including 3,400 megawatts at a renewable energy park.
