Oct. 6 (Bloomberg) -- European Central Bank President Jean- Claude Trichet said cutting interest rates was part of the discussions at today’s governing council meeting.

“There has been a discussion on the pros and cons of decreasing rates or keeping rates where they are,” Trichet said at a press conference in Berlin today. “After a long discussion we have decided by consensus to maintian rates.”
