Oct. 6 (Bloomberg) -- Dubai’s benchmark DFM General Index gained for the first time in seven days, rising 0.8 percent to 1,395.43 at the 2:00 p.m. close in the emirate. Abu Dhabi’s ADX General Index gained 0.2 percent and Qatar’s measure climbed 1.1 percent.
The following shares were active in the Persian Gulf region. Stock symbols are in parentheses.
Arabtec Holding Co. (ARTC UH) advanced the most since Aug. 10, increasing 2.3 percent to 1.33 dirhams. The United Arab Emirates’ biggest construction company said its joint venture in India won a contract valued at about 750 million dirhams ($204 million).
DP World Ltd. (DPW DU) surged the most since March 8, rising 4.8 percent to $10.65. The state-controlled port operator agreed to a 20-year financing with a group of international banks for its London Gateway deep-sea port.
