Oct. 6 (Bloomberg) -- Turkiye Garanti Bankasi AS, Turkey’s biggest listed bank, denied a report that it wants to buy lender Eurobank Tekfen, Bloomberg HT reported citing chief exceutive Ergun Ozen.
The report in Haberturk newspaper has “no bearing on reality,” Ozen said, according to the Istanbul-based news channel.
Garanti is one of several bidders for the bank, owned by EFG Eurobank Ergasias SA of Greece and Turkey’s Tekfen Holding, and is closest to making the purchase, Haberturk said without citing anyone.
