ECB Says Banks Increased Deposits to Highest Since July 2010

Oct. 6 (Bloomberg) -- The European Central Bank said financial institutions increased overnight deposits to the highest since July 2010.

Euro area banks placed 221.4 billion euros ($295 billion) at the Frankfurt-based ECB yesterday, up from 213.2 billion euros yesterday. That’s the highest since July 12, 2010. Financial institutions borrowed 3.2 billion euros at the marginal rate of 2.25 percent, up from 1.4 billion euros the previous day.
