KPN Gets Conditional Fine From Dutch Telecom Regulator Opta

October 05, 2011

Oct. 5 (Bloomberg) -- Royal KPN NV has to reimburse customers of its Zakelijk BelBasis subscription that ended their contract between March 2 until April 4 for a termination fee it unlawfully charged, a Dutch regulator said.

If KPN failed to reimburse 95 percent of clients by Sept.7 and all clients by Sept. 30, it has to pay 5,000 euros for each day it failed to do so, telecommunications regulator Opta said in a decision dated Aug. 31 and published today.
