Honda’s Thai Plant Faces ‘Worrisome’ Flood Situation, Pitak Says

October 05, 2011

Oct. 6 (Bloomberg) -- Honda Motor Co., Japan’s third- largest automaker, faces a “worrisome” flooding situation at a plant in Thailand’s Ayutthaya province, Pitak Pruittisarikorn, executive vice president of its Thai unit, said by phone.

The company halted production at the plant yesterday on supply shortages, not flooding, he said. The factory can produce 240,000 vehicles per year.
