ECB Says Banks Increased Deposits to Highest in More Than a Year

Oct. 5 (Bloomberg) -- The European Central Bank said financial institutions increased overnight deposits to the highest in more than a year.

Euro-area banks parked 213.2 billion euros ($283.9 billion) at the Frankfurt-based ECB yesterday, up from 209.3 billion euros the previous day. That’s the highest since July 12, 2010. Lenders borrowed 1.4 billion euros at the marginal rate of 2.25 percent, up from 1.3 billion euros.
