(Updates with milk production in second paragraph)

Oct. 4 (Bloomberg) -- Canned tuna production in the Seychelles rose to 7,127 metric tons in the second quarter of the year from 6,519 tons a year earlier, the nation’s statistics bureau said.

Milk production on the Indian Ocean island slumped 64 percent to 16 kiloliters, the Victoria-based agency said in an e-mailed statement today. Sales of chickens more than doubled to 228,632 birds, while eggs sales gained 30 percent to 7 million, it said.

The island nation produced no copra from coconuts this year, the statistics office said, without commenting further. Electricity output climbed 11 percent to 83 kilowatts, the bureau said.
