Oct. 4 (Bloomberg) -- The following companies had unusual price changes in Mexico trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 4 p.m. New York time.
The IPC index fell 0.5 percent to 32,966.23.
Retail and homebuilders: Mexico’s consumer confidence index fell to 92.4 in September from 93.4 in August, the national statistics agency, known as Inegi, reported today on its website. The September index was expected to rise to 93.9, according to the median of nine forecasts in a Bloomberg survey.
Desarrolladora Homex SAB (HOMEX* MM), Mexico’s largest homebuilder, declined 3.6 percent to 29.54 pesos. Urbi Desarrollos Urbanos SAB (URBI* MM), Mexico’s third-largest homebuilder, fell 4.1 percent to 17.50 pesos. Grupo Elektra SA (ELEKTRA* MM), the retail and banking company controlled by billionaire Ricardo Salinas, fell 2.8 percent to 976.61 pesos.
Grupo Mexico SAB (GMEXICOB MM), the country’s largest mining company, tumbled 5.9 percent to 30.93 pesos. Copper futures for December delivery fell as much as 3.8 percent on the Comex in New York.
