Fox ‘Cannot’ Produce ‘Simpsons’ at Current Cost, Seeks New Terms

October 04, 2011

Oct. 4 (Bloomberg) -- The Fox TV network is seeking to cut the pay of the actors who supply the voices for the long-running animated series “The Simpsons,” saying it can’t produce the show under the current financial arrangements.

“We are hopeful that we can reach an agreement with the voice cast that allows ‘The Simpsons’ to go on entertaining audiences with original episodes for many years to come,” News Corp.’s Los Angeles-based Fox said today in an e-mailed statement.
