Chile to Post Budget Gap of 0.4% of GDP in 2012, Larrain Says

Oct. 4 (Bloomberg) -- Chile’s government, which has savings equivalent to 7.5 percent of gross domestic product, will post a deficit of 0.4 percent of GDP next year, Finance Minister Felipe Larrain said.

The government remains committed to a structural fiscal deficit equivalent to 1 percent of GDP by 2014, Larrain told lawmakers as he presented the 2012 budget today.
