Hungary Lowers 2010 Budget Deficit to 4.2 Percent of Output

Oct. 3 (Bloomberg) -- Hungary’s budget deficit was 4.2 percent of gross domestic product last year, compared with an earlier estimate of 4.3 percent, the Budapest-based statistics office said in an e-mail today.

The government targeted a shortfall of 3.8 percent in 2010. The deficit peaked at 9.4 percent of GDP in 2006, according to the statistics office.
