House Panel to Lay Groundwork for Considering Free-Trade Bills

October 03, 2011

Oct. 3 (Bloomberg) -- The House Rules Committee said it will consider, on an emergency basis this evening, legislation that is a precursor to congressional ratification of free-trade deals with Panama, Colombia and South Korea.

The committee will consider setting terms of debate for the Trade Adjustment Assistance Extension Act, which President Barack Obama has sought as a condition for submitting free-trade deals with Colombia, Panama and South Korea for ratification by Congress.
