Sept. 30 (Bloomberg) -- South Africa posted a budget deficit of 5.4 billion rand in August, the National Treasury said.
Government revenue was 62.3 billion rand last month, while expenditure reached 67.7 billion rand, the Pretoria-based Treasury said in a statement on its website today.
The budget deficit for the first five months of the year widened to 86.8 billion rand from 78.2 billion rand in the same period a year ago, according to the statement
