Saccomanni Still Backed by Berlusconi to Head BOI, Corriere Says

Sept. 30 (Bloomberg) -- Fabrizio Saccomanni remains Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi’s leading candidate to replace Mario Draghi at the head of the Bank of Italy, though Finance Minister Giulio Tremonti is resisting the appointment, Corriere della Sera reported, without saying where it got the information. The Cabinet will meet next week in an effort to find an agreement on the nomination, the newspaper said.
