Polish Grid Says Interest in Belarus Power Link Exceeds Capacity

September 30, 2011

Sept. 30 (Bloomberg) -- An electricity connection between Poland and Belarus now under consideration by PSE Operator SA, Poland’s power grid operator, has attracted more interest than the proposed link will be able to handle, PSE Operator said.

“Seven companies, including four foreign entities, expressed interest in importing and exporting power,” the operator said in a statement on its website.

The company said it may start an "open season” procedure in the second half of 2012 to further gauge potential demand before making an investment decision.
